TE : Bumpy,good still once u get into it frankfresh : its like a fox Lazarus219 : Average park with some fun sections i'm jesus : its ok but watc for the ramp leadin into the funbox..its a peice frankfresh : its ok, but just watch out for the ramp leading into the funbox... that things a piece Tough Stough N$ REP : I'll try not to be biased. - Chatswood skatepark is in a good location, across the road there are alot of shops to eat from (and to buy clothes from you metro). It's also really close to the train station so you can catch a train, bus, or drive there and park at the westfield shopping centre up the road. There are alot of limitations to the park itself. There are the ledges down the bottom, and the tranny. Both of which can only be skated pretty much one person at a time. The cement is smooth, but it has alot of bumps in the tranny for the bowl and mini. The coping is set inconsistently, some parts are smithable, most aren't. A good thing is that you won't need to bring any wax with you, unless you suck and can't go fast. There tend to be alot of roller-skaters and cyclists on the weekends so go during the week if you can. There are lines if you are good and you skate alot of tranny, if you don't you'll find yourself going back and forth along the ledges at the bottom. I think it deserves a 3 star rating but you may not agree, only one way to find out! brown1e : Chatswood Park is not bad. Its not great, either. The concrete is lumpy and incosistant in various places, mostly around the tranny towards the back of the park. The box in the middle of the park is too cluttered with obstacles, many of which are completely useless. The down rail is INSANE, as it is only about 4 inches high, and causes many people to fall down and hurt themselves. The roll in offers a good bank set-up, which i think is probably the best feature of the park. The blocks which are set up on the flatground section of the park are a good height, but they are far too short, and the approach for these blocks is inconviniently located in a high traffic area of the park. The way the park is designed splits it into two sections, the first of which is all transition, which is about 7 or so feet high, with coping that leaves a little to be desired, but is skateable and fun enough. The second section of the park consists of the roll in/flat bank and the funbox. The roll in is placed a little too close to the box for my liking, and doesnt really offer adequate set up time for tricks. The hubbas running up, across and down the funbox are challenging (read: difficult to skate for me at least), and will make you wish you always wore shinpads when you skated (read: that park fucking owns my shins). Both of these sections are, unfortunately, designed in a way that means only one person can skate them at any given time, which, on a weekend, can mean having to wait a little while before you get your run in the park. Overall, id say give it a go, its easy enough to get too and is located next to a major shopping centre, so theres no reason why you shouldnt go down and see what you think. 2way Skater : 2 things to watch out for. Try to smoke as little as possible and be stingy, or your pack will dissapear to scabs (not skaters, just random bum's n shit )... Once it gets dark watch out for the big groups of wannabe gangsters... brandma : running over wood pieces are the best cos u usually fall down and eat shit honda_b : cant wait to skate it The Truth : it has a couple of good ledge and the flat back is pretty much on the money. The concrete is kinda rough now and becarefull not to fall forward going up the box(not joking). The trannys are bot the best. Replaced shotgun rail with high bar, Added a box on top of the bowl, Added in a steep little quarter pipe, Removed high box, Added a small ledge and rail.
